Romanticism OF ORCHIDS

This project explores the Romanticism of Orchids, focusing on their historical, cultural, and aesthetic significance. This study builds on my previous projects on girlhood, where I examined themes of identity, nature, and femininity. I analysed how orchids have been perceived in literature and art, particularly in relation to female identity and the natural world. This project involves creating textile samples inspired by the intricate forms and the vibrant rich colours of orchids, while expanding my specialist techniques such as laser cutting and embellishment, while using digital printing grounds.
